OUR HISTORY

Regina Community Basketball Association has contributed to Regina’s sports community for generations. The league has played an integral role in developing youth, coaches, and referees that have helped build the thriving basketball culture we now have in our city. Established in 1931, RCBA is the longest running youth sports league in Western Canada, which is something we’re extremely proud of.

Previously known as Regina Church League Basketball association, the league adopted its current name in 2000, which reflects its broad community base in the City of Regina. The fundamental principles of participation, development, and achievement remain the cornerstones of our great league today. These cornerstones have been the platform that many RCBA athletes have used to develop their skills to succeed at the high school and university basketball level.

Numerous athletes, coaches, and referees have been introduced to basketball through RCBA. The league has left its mark on thousands of people in our city and contributed to the success of many both in basketball and in life. We’re proud of our league, dedicated to our athletes, coaches, and referees, and plan to continue to make a positive impact in the Regina community for future generations.

LEAGUE OVERVIEW

RCBA is a non-profit community organization that offers children and teenagers aged 5-18 the opportunity to participate in the sport our city has grown to love, basketball. Youth of all skill levels in Regina and surrounding area are encouraged to enroll.

Youth development is the core focus of our league, which is why we incorporate Basketball Canada's guidelines for player development, ensuring players are developing the right skills at the right age. Additionally, we’ve built our program to ensure that regardless of the players’ level of experience, they will not be overwhelmed by the skills they’re required to learn.

We’re committed to providing the best experience for each player, coach and referee. RCBA practices fair and equal play and encourages a fun atmosphere for all participants.
