Evaluations
Teams are drafted based on an evaluation process. Evaluators assess the skill level of every player. Skills evaluated include: layups, shooting, dribbling, agility/quickness, etc.

**IMPORTANTThese evaluations are NOT tryouts. This information is only used to assess a player's current skill lever and is a tool for the RCBA to try and make teams as fair & evenly balanced as possible.
ALL PLAYERS MAKE A TEAM REGARDLESS OF HOW THEY EVALUATE

Team Selection
When drafting teams, we take into account the nights of availability for each player, their evaluation results, and other activities they participate in. The league does everything possible to distribute the skill levels evenly across all teams.

*The RCBA does not accept zone requests - THIS IS A CITY WIDE PROGRAM, PLAYERS COULD BE ASSIGNED A PRACTICE FACILITY OUTSIDE THEIR ZONE*

*NEW*
Based on the number of players registered in each division and the results of our evaluations, some changes may be made to the division.

Grade 5 boys could be divided into 2 pools/divisions
Grade 5/6 girls may be grouped together
This decision will not be made lightly and will be made with the best interest of the entire league, for our new & experienced players.

Games
Games will be either on Friday nights or Saturdays. Game format is 5v5. Zone defense is not allowed in this division, pressing after the midseason point is under review. This is to ensure more time can be spent focusing on the fundamental offensive & defensive skills of the game. Game sessions are 75 minutes.

Scoring
Scores are kept & displayed. If the point differential is more than 25pts, coaches have the option to discontinue showing the score. On the RCBA website, scores will ONLY be recorded up to a 25 point differential. This is to discourage teams from running up the score.

Playoffs
All teams make it into the playoffs and will have a minimum of 2 games. Playoff brackets will be posted & matchups are determined by the season's final standings.

Practices: Every team practice will be held at the same facility at the same time every week. Practices are 1.5 hours.
