NCCP Clinics
Community Coach (gr 3&4)
Date: September 30th, 2017
Topics Covered: This 1 day course will cover philosophy, practice planning, safety, basic fundamentals of basketball and coaching ethics.  Coaches who complete this course are considered "trained". If you have already taken the community coach course while in our grade 1&2 program, you do not need to take it again.

Introduction to Competition (gr 5-12)
Date: September 30th & October 1st, 2017
Topics Covered: This two day course includes ethical decision making, modified games, safety, practice planning and skill development.  After completing this course, coaches will be considered "trained".  To become "certified" coaches will have to complete a portfolio, be evaluated at a game and practice by a provincial evaluator and pass the NCCP on-line Making Ethical Decisions quiz.

Community Coach (gr1&2)
Date: October 21st, 2017
Topics Covered: This 1 day course will cover philosophy, practice planning, safety, basic fundamentals of basketball and coaching ethics.  Coaches who complete this course are considered "trained".

Respect in Sport
Respect in Sport must be completed by all coaches wishing to participate in our league. If you have already completed this certificate, please click off the BSI box on your account so that we have access to your certificate number. Observation at Player Camps
The RCBA will be holding player clinics throughout the year at which coaches will be encouraged to attend and observe. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up drills and coaching tips from experienced coaches. Once the player clinic dates are set, an email will be sent out to coaches with the information.

Running Clinic

Mental Training Clinic
This clinic will be conducted by Kyle Mcdonald owner of Competitive Will. Through 10 plus years involved in competitive sport, along with his academic background in the fields of sport psychology and leadership (MSc Sport Psychology), Kyle has developed a strategic outlook on mental training and the high performance needs of individuals and organizations. Post Play Clinic

This clinic will be run by Tracy Johnson. Here's a little bit about Tracy:

Tracy grew up in Abbottsford BC. She played her University basketball at Frasier Valley where she won the Rookie all Canadian Award! Tracy was also just inducted into the inaugural Hall of Fame at UFV in 2017. She played two years at Frasier Valley before transferring to Brandon University. She finished her career in Brandon and was inducted into the Hall of Fame there in 2015. Tracy has been coaching since she was 22 years old, coaching the Sask U15 Development team, the U16 team and was the assistant coach with the U15 and U17 teams this past year. She is a trained evaluator with Canada basketball! Tracy currently has been coaching the Warman Senior Boys for the past 3 years.
